Vernon J. Krajewski, 65, of Toledo, went peacefully to the Lord on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the Toledo Hospital. Vernon had been battling cancer for two years. Vernon proudly served on the Toledo Police Department as a detective for the juvenile bureau, resigning in 1979 to take a position as a credit manager at Kuhlman Corporation. He worked at Kuhlman for 31 years and was a member and past president of the CFMA. Vernon was a member of St. John the Baptist Church where he enjoyed playing in their Monday night golf league. He also cherished golfing on Sunday mornings with his brother-in-law, Jim Lintner and friend Bob Hudzinski. Vernon was a lifelong supporter of Notre Dame and Michigan Football, as well as Tigers baseball. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Vernon is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 42 years, Dolores (Nowak) Krajewski; daughters, Dr. Amy (Dr. Shawn) Kerger, Joy (Bryan) Bockbrader and Jill Krajewski; grandson, Kellan Kerger; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Jim Lintner; sister-in-law, Patricia Nowak; niece, Laura (Douglas) Glover; nephew, Marty (Heather) Nowak; and special four legged friend, Stella. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Betty (Dembinski) Krajewski and brother-in-law, Casimir Nowak, Jr.
The family will receive guests on Sunday from 4 – 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Prayers will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
