Verlee (Barnes) "Miss Baker" Brown
Verlee Brown, age 64 of Toledo went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 22nd, 2005 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. She was born July 21, 1941 to J.D. Newton and Magnolia (Beal) Barnes in Texarkana, Arkansas. She was a graduate of Scott High School class of 1959. Verlee believed in giving back to the community and was very involved in Community Development and Service through EOPA.
Verlee was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving children, Cynthia and Vincent Baker; grandchildren, Juan; LaTasha; Vincenta; Doniqua; Don II and Brianna; great grandchildren, Cossie; J.J.; Te'Kiyah and Jon'Niece; special friends, Twila; Carrie and Tequoia; special daughters, Tinika and Ramona; first cousins, Beverly and Tony Heart and a host of family and friends.
The family will receive guests Friday from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Mount Nebo Baptist Church, 831 N. Detroit Ave. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. Rev. Cedric Brock officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
