Vera A. Szabo

Vera A. Szabo, age 91, of Maumee, Ohio passed away September 27, 2014 at her home in Dayton, Ohio surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Weston, Michigan to Ross and Almeda Baerlin. Vera was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church Maumee. She was a frequent member of the Maumee Senior Center with a passion for playing cards.

Vera is survived by her loving daughters, Judy A. (Ronald) Meyers and Dolores A. (Patrick) Gillen; grandchildren, Aaron (Deborah) Meyers, Karen (Anthony) Kinner, Abraham Gillen, Laura (Wesley) Bolton, Kurt Gillen and Kathy (Richard) McIlvain; and great-grandchildren, Gillian and Madeline Meyers, Natalie, Alexander and Sean Kinner, Emily, Alisa, Dustin, Kate and Henry Bolton, Bobby, Ben and Drew McIlvain. In addition to her parents, Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Szabo; brothers and sisters, Willard, Ralph, Elmer, Henry, Margie and Phyllis.

The family will receive guests, Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 104 West Broadway Street, Maumee. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
