Vance Patrick Mowrey

Vance Patrick Mowrey, age 46, of Kelleys Island, passed away Sunday, December 13th, 2009 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 27th, 1963 to Vance and Patricia (Hoare) Mowrey in Toledo. Vance was employed with the Village of Kelleys Island for 10 years. He was a wonderfully supportive husband and loving and devoted father to his daughters and granddaughter. Before moving to Kelleys Island, Vance lived in Toledo with his wife, Ruby and their daughters, Valerie and Marie. Vance visited the Island many times with his family as a child and young adult. It was his love of the Island that drew him and his family to move there 10 years ago and enjoy its beauty every day.

Vance was preceded in death by his parents, Vance and Patricia Mowrey and sister, Jill Mowrey. Vance is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Ruby I. (Leiner) Mowrey; daughters, Valerie (Brian) Papazian and Marie Mowrey; granddaughter, Madelyn Papazian; brother, John (Pat) Mowrey; sister, Joy (Tom) Facey and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A Celebration of Vance's Life will take place Saturday, December 19th, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Church on Kelleys Island. Inurnment will follow at Kelleys Island Cemetery. Boat Schedule for Saturday: 8:00 a.m. boat to Kelleys Island only and 12:30 p., 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. boat off Kelleys Island. For those friends that are unable to make the trip to Kelleys island, there will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, December 19th at St. Michael's Church, Chase and Sandusky St., Toledo, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to Vance's Family.
