Tyrone Coates

Tyrone "Ty" Coates, age 66, of Toledo, passed away September 29, 2014 at Flower Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Ty was born August 16, 1948 in Toledo to Johnnie and Essie Mae (Odoms) Coates. He was employed at Chevrolet for over 16 years and then worked in the Health Care field for many years until retiring. Ty loved to golf, watch Tiger Woods and work in his garden.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his oldest brother, John and his father-in-law, Ernie Burnette, Sr. Ty is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Yvonne Burnette; mother-in-law, Joyce Burnette; daughters, Dakota Coates, April and Lamae (Franko); sons, Tyson (Amy), Marco (Marie), Ja'lon (Persis) and Ivano (Dahila); brothers, A.J. (Ann), Robert (Maria), Charles (Sylvia), Carl and Gerald (Cheryl) Coates; sisters, Luella Coates, Bessie Bester, Geneva Coates and Mary Duhart; 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; brother-in-law, Ernie (Debbie) Burnette, Jr.; special aunt and uncle, Dee Dee and Forey; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

The family will receive guests Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - NW Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
