Troy C. Anaya, Jr. age 31, of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Mercy St. Anne Hospital where he was surrounded by his loving family and dear friends. He was born on April 11, 1985 to Troy C. Anaya, Sr. and Diana (Ballesteros) Houston in Toledo. Troy was a 2003 graduate of Toledo Technology Academy and was in his last semester in the nursing program at Owens Community College. For many years he worked at the Zepf Center on Collingwood Blvd., (previously known as Compass).
Troy was an avid Pokeman fanatic, enjoyed Marvel comics, reading and spending time with his family and friends. Troy was a proud and active member of the LGBT Community and Spectrum Support Group at the University of Toledo. His family will remember him as a big man with a loving and gentle soul. He was loved as big as he loved others. His laugh was so infectious. When you were hugged by him, you felt his whole heart and soul.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Diane (Daryl) Houston; dad, Kevin (Tammy) Chadwick; father, Troy C. (Mina) Anaya, Sr.; siblings, Kevin II and Brandon (Delicia) Chadwick; Daryl Houston, II; Boston and Brittany Anaya; paternal grandmother, Maureen Martin; special grandmother, Nancy Vogel; step-siblings, Chad, Brittany and Alex Houston; Danielle (Amber) Thomas; Sierra, Jessa and Jesus IV Avila; Mika Sakamoto; godparents, Aida Morin and Bryon Anaya; host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many many friends, too many to list. Preceding him in death are his two brothers, Justin and Jason Anaya; maternal grandparents, Valentin (Margarita) Ballesteros; paternal grandfathers, Richard Anaya and Paul Martin; extended grandparents, Eugene (Arlene) Houston and Tom (Bernadette) Chadwick.
The family will receive guests on Monday, August 22, 2016 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home on Monday. Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, 2535 Collingwood Blvd., Toledo, OH 43610 with Rev. Msgr. William J. Kubacki and Rev. Robert J. Reinhart concelebrating.
