Torquil "Don" MacLean, age 85, of Maumee, Ohio passed away December 29, 2014 at his home. He was born July 18, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio to Kenneth and Marybelle (Sutherland) MacLean. Don served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was employed with L.O.F. for more than 30 years, retiring in 1985. Don was a member of the Maumee Eagles.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Hazel L. (Swan) MacLean; daughter, Janet (Richard) Hinkle; step-son, Scott (Lorraine) Handing; grandchildren, Melissa (Dan), Ren, Bryan, Tevin, Erin (Pat) and Jacque; great-grandchildren, Brian, Hazel, Audrey, Adelaide and Sydney. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Cassady; sister, Margaret MacLean and brother, Kenneth MacLean.
The family will receive guests Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 12:30 pm. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to ProMedica Hospice in Don's memory.
