Tony J. DeMarco, age 81, of Sylvania, Ohio, formerly of Elyria, Ohio, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012. He was born on June 13, 1931 and married Ida Bokay on February 10, 1951. She was the love of his life and he missed her constantly since her death 7 months ago. They were inseparable for almost 61 years. Tony and Ida were loving, hard-working and supportive parents.
Tony loved spending time with his family, friends and neighbors. He liked meeting new people and made friends easily. Tony always sat outside his home, ready to have a good conversation with visitors. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas with Ida. Tony worked as a meat-cutter for 46 years; starting at Phil and Harve's and retiring from Convenient Food Mart. He was known for his custom-cut meats and quality service to his loyal customers. Tony was a member of the Elk's Lodge, VFW and Moose Club 778 while living in Elyria.
In addition to his wife, Tony was preceded in death by his brothers, Anthony Fogylano and John DeMarco; sisters, Connie Wellborn, Mary Gannon, Anna Larizza and Rose Pillari; son-in-law, Allen Dukate. Left to cherish his memory is his son, John (Cindy) DeMarco; daughters, Linda Dukate and Joanne (Butch) Brown; grandchildren, Brent (Reneé) Dukate and Scott (Desirae) Dukate, Kevin and Kellie Brown, John and Katie DeMarco; great-grandchildren, Emma and Jacob Dukate and Chase and Camden Dukate; sister, Angie Knight; numerous nieces and nephews.
Per Tony's wishes a Memorial Mass will be held for his immediate family.
