Tommy R. Lynn

Tommy R. "Tom" Lynn, age 69, of Temperance, MI, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the Toledo Hospital with loving family by his side. He was born on May 13, 1953 to William "Eddie" and Ruth Lynn in Chicago, Illinois. Tom worked as a Tool & Die maker throughout his career. He was an avid sports fan, especially of all Chicago sports. Tom was an avid fan of NASCAR, loving Kevin Harvick. He loved animals, mainly cats and would even take care of the strays. He was a mechanic at heart, could build anything, and was a jack of all trades.
Tom had a heart of gold, would help anyone in need and was generous to a fault. His smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Ed McDonald; and sister, Cathy Lynn. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 43 years, Shirley Lynn; mother-in-law, Lois McDonald; children, Heather Lynn, Bill Lynn, Carrie (Aaron Chappell) Lynn, and Cherie (Chad) Thatcher; grandchildren, Brittney, Breanna, Remi, AJ, Tommy, Collin, Logan and Riley; great-grandson, Liam; siblings, Rita (John) O'Malley, Roger (Sherrie) Lynn and Sandy (Naeem) Sharif; best friend, Robert Stewart; many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, April 2, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions in honor of Tom are asked to consider his family or the Toledo Humane Society.
