Tom R. Mccally

Tom R. McCally, 78, passed away on September 13, 2013.

He retired from Washington Local Schools where he was a teacher for 27 years. Tom taught at Monac, Jackman and Jefferson Schools. Prior to teaching, he served in the Air Force as Master Sgt. Tom had a lifelong passion for cartooning and was published in several professional magazines. He belonged to the Monday Morning Painters. Tom and his extended family enjoyed spending time together at their cottage at Rose Lake. Many evenings ended with him playing the guitar around the campfire and everyone singing.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bill McCally. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 58 years, Joann; children, Debbie (Dave) Goldsworthy; Bill (Kim) and Susan (Blaine) Martin; grandchildren, Scott, April, Amy (Dan), Josh (Jenna), Tom (Courtney), Alison (Ryan), Courtney, Andy and Anthony; 8 great-grandchildren and his "Euchre Club" friends.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home. Interment will take place at Toledo Memorial Park.
