Timothy Jerome Whitiker, was born on June 23, 1966, to the union of Lavola and Merlin D. Whitiker Sr., in Toledo, Ohio. He departed this life on January 9, 2025 in his home after a lengthy illness.
Better known as "Love," Tim was well known and loved by all whom he met. He received his education from the Toledo Public Schools, obtaining his GED in 1985. Tim was great working with his hands, doing jobs such as plastering, carpentry work and anything he put his mind to, he was a self-made entrepreneur. He was also a great cook, making sweet potato pies that would melt in your mouth.
Tim was the baby of the family, spoiled by his siblings and more by his mom. Tim was outgoing, never meeting a stranger and always the life of the party. He loved his grandchildren and would move heaven earth for them. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steeler Fan.
Tim was preceded in death by parents, Lavola and Merlin Whitiker, Sr., second father, Arvee Carter; brother Merlin, Jr. and Glenn Whitiker; four stepbrothers, and five stepsisters. He is survived by his ex-wife, Annetta Whitiker; sons, Marcus (Keisha) Whitiker of Toledo, Jamel Gaines and Anthony White both of Toledo, Quran of Texas; daughters, Tamika Whitiker of Hosuton, TX, Tosha Whitiker, Patrice Whitiker, Tierra Whitiker, Tamara Whitiker, Timea Whitiker, Tim-Esha White and Sha'Kayla Rivers all of Toledo, OH; brother, James (Wayne) Whitiker of Toledo, Clarence Carter of CA; sisters, Theresa Whitiker, Beatrice (lesley) Taylor, Lavenia (Cornel) Edwards, Sandie Welch and Eva M. (Anthony) Singer of Toledo. Thirty-three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Best friends since childhood, Barth Russell and Patrick Casey; favorite cousins, Troy Smith and Leonard Rose, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive guests Friday, January 17, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, 2001 Ashland Ave., Toledo, OH 43620. The Funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery, Toledo, OH.
