Timothy R. Smith

Timothy R. "Tim" Smith, age 65, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at St. Anne's Mercy Hospital. He was born on April 9, 1949 to Ronald and Katherine Smith in Hobart, Indiana. Tim was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country in the Vietnam War, honorably discharged in 1971. He worked at Champion Spark Plug for 15 years, then at Obar's Machine Shop and then went to work at Chrysler Machining Plant, Perrysburg, until retiring. Tim was an avid tool and die maker; always found tinkering in his basement.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Tim is survived by his best friends, Ray and Sue Pawlaczyk; Bob Vandergrift; and Tom Tinsley; and many other dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Friday from 2 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300).
