Timothy Scott Grosteffon

Timothy Scott Grosteffon, born on February 21, 1960, in Toledo, Ohio, departed this life unexpectedly on November 29, 2024. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and Papa, whose was enriched by his passions and cherished moments with family.

Tim was known for his honesty, loyalty, and reliability, often described as being "honest to a fault." His friends and family fondly referred to him as a "MacGyver," reflecting his remarkable ability to solve problems and craft solutions with creativity and resourcefulness. Tim’s personality and adventurous spirit shone through his love for the great outdoors, especially during hunting and fishing excursions where he treasured teaching his children and grandchildren the art of angling.

His greatest joys came from spending quality time by the water, surrounded by those he loved. Many will remember him for the countless hours spent at the lake and the beautiful family memories that were woven together over shared family moments at the lake. Tim's passions extended to snowmobiling, watching Formula One racing, and embarking on adventurous vacations, each experience adding to the fabric of his adventurous spirit.

Tim is survived by his loving wife, Melodie Grosteffon; his daughter, Kelsey (Garrett) Kerns; and his son, Forrest Grosteffon. He is also remembered fondly by his brother, Tony Grosteffon, and sister, Michelle Strauss. Tim's grandchildren, Grace Grosteffon, Isla Kerns, and Lawson Kerns, will especially miss the moments spent with their grandfather, who brought a special magic to their lives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Carol Grosteffon, and his brother, Denny Grosteffon.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Timothy’s life at a series of memorial gatherings, taking place at Newcomer Funeral Home in Northwest Toledo. The first gathering will be on December 5, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by another gathering on December 6, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, leading up to a memorial service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM that same day with Pastor Shawn Jennings, officiating.

Timothy Scott Grosteffon leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and adventure. He will be profoundly missed by all whose lives he touched.
