Timothy A. Laney

Timothy A. "Tim" Laney, age 50 of Sylvania, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 1, 2012. He was born on September 15, 1962 in Toledo, Ohio. He was raised by his mother, Judith Ann (Stark) and step-father, Ray Martin. Tim was an accomplished journeyman and worked at Die-Namic in Belleville, MI as a precision grinder for the past 5 years. He was formerly employed by Hammill Mfg. in Toledo for 25 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and had been an avid hunter most of his life.Tim was proud of his many deer head trophies that he had earned while hunting. He also enjoyed spending time with his family at their cottage on Marble Lake.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 26 years, Catherine M. "Cathy" (Tobianski) Laney; children, Alicia, Christopher (Shannon) and Ryan Laney; mother and step-father, Judy and Ray Martin; brothers, Douglas (Jill) and Stephen Laney and sister, Elizabeth Martin; granddogs, Diego, Abbi, Charlie and Toby and his faithful furry companion, Dodge; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Preceding him in death was his father, Ralph Laney.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, December 8, 2012 from Noon – 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Memorial Services will begin in the funeral home Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
