Tikesha Shanta (Pegues) Brown fell asleep in death on November 10, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital, surrounded by her family and friends who loved and cherished her very much.
Tikesha was born in union to Percy L. and Annette Pegues, on October 25, 1979, in Pensacola, Florida.
She and her family moved to Toledo, Ohio in 1982. She attended Fulton elementary, Old West End Jr. High and graduated from Jesup W. Scott Highschool in 1998. She worked several jobs, but her last employment was at Lutheran Homes as a Home Health Aide, and she worked there for five years. Tikesha loved her job. She loved her clients, and they were crazy about her. They especially loved the wonderful meals that she prepared for them.
Tikesha was full of life and always enjoyed a good laugh. She loved her purses and margaritas, and she loved to cook. Tikesha could really throw down in the kitchen and quiet as it’s kept, she taught our mama a thing or two in the kitchen. She didn’t play when it came to her hair and nails. She always had a jazzy set of nails and wore her hair in a variety of colors and styles. More importantly, she loved and had a strong attachment to her husband, children, and grandson.
On October 26, 2022, Tikesha, married the love of her life, Anthony K Brown. Together they raised three beautiful children: two sons, Calvin D. Weaver II and Caleb M. Weaver and one daughter, Ty’Eryia S. Anderson and one grandson Ky’Enie M. Smith. Another one of her passions was spoiling, adoring and loving her precious grandson.
Tikeshas other surviving relatives are her parents, Percy L. and Annette Pegues; siblings, Derick A. Pugh (Crystal), Yalanda S. Whaley (Justin) and Andrea D. Solomon (Michael); her spiritual grandmother and friend, Lucetta Harris. Tikesha left behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends who she loved with all her heart, and they loved her too. Two of her very special friends are Grace Williams and Crystal Brown.
Tikesha is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ross and Rosie Pegues and maternal grandparents, Andrew and Blanda Pugh and great nephew, Julian J. Zimmerman.
Before Tikesha fell asleep, she had a heart-to-heart conversation with our mother and expressed that she believed in God’s promise at Revelation 21:3,4 that soon God will wipe out every tear from our eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” We’re so confident and so was she, that we will reunite with her in paradise, here on earth, where we all will be able to enjoy eternal life as a family again.
