Thomas Stine

Thomas D. "Dick" Stine, age 90 a longtime resident of Toledo passed away Thursday, February 3rd, 2011 at the Toledo Hospital. He was born July 21st, 1920 to Charles and Opal (Bennett) Stine in Toledo, Ohio. Dick married the love of his life Betty (Whitney) Stine at Collingwood Presbyterian Chapel on August 5th, 1942 and they spent 68 years together. He graduated from DeVilbiss High School , Class of 1938 and attended the University of Toledo. Dick was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran serving his country proudly. He was employed with Columbia Gas, retiring after 35 years of service. Dick enjoyed golf, fishing at Devil's Lake, a lifelong love of woodworking and spending treasured time with his family.

In addition to his parents Dick was preceded in death by his brother, Sanford Stine; sister-in-law, Doris Stine; brother-in-law, Bruce Whitney and sister-in-law, Eunice Whitney. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Betty J. Stine; daughters, Marcia (special friend, Linda Keys) Sevrence and Claudia (Don) Insalaco; grandchildren, Sean (Theresa) Sevrence, Michelle (Chris) Moses and Brett Insalaco; great-grandchildren, Samantha Sevrence, Spencer Sevrence, Ava Moses and Layna Moses.

The family will receive guests Monday from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with a Memorial Service beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
