Thomas R. Buchele, Sr.

Thomas R. "Tom" Buchele, Sr., age 74, of Toledo, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 at St. Anne's Mercy Hospital. He was born on May 14, 1938 to Oscar and Mildred (Auth) Buchele in Toledo. Tom was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. He then was employed with Kroger Co., then a driver for Cain's Chips and then retired from OSHA as a safety inspector. Tom was very handy, there wasn't anything he couldn't do; he even built his cabin up north, which he loved spending time at. He was an avid Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan, loved his dogs and corvettes. Tom also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved nothing more than the time spent with his family. Tom will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Buchele and sister, Carol Onisko. Tom is survived by his loving children, Thomas (Michelle) Buchele, Jr.; Terri (Ken) Thompson and JoAnn (Tony) Kowalewski; grandchildren, Sara, Jessica, Joshua, Jacob and Amanda; special friend, Marie Henderson; and many other relatives and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Monday from 3 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Prayers will begin in the funeral home Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church, 3030 Tremainsville Rd., Toledo. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make monetary donations are asked to consider St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
