Thomas James Palka

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mr. Thomas James Palka on February 4th, 2024. He was born in the Spring of '51, in Detroit Michigan, home of his favorite football team The Detroit Lions.

Thomas lived a life filled with purpose and joy. A gentle soul, his quiet demeanor belied a man of deep wisdom, profound empathy, and a boundless love for his family. Thomas was a maintenance man throughout most of his life. He enjoyed shooting pool and camping with family and friends.

Thomas is now reunited with those who preceded him in death, his parents: Thaddeus "Ted" Palka, and Margaret "Margie" Palka and his uncle Leonard Palka. Still here to honor and remember him is his wife Carol Palka, brother Joe Palka, Son Thomas Robert Palka, Daughter Courtney (Fred) Clouse, Dawn Oberdier, Michael Hampton Jr.(Tonya), John Oberdier and his grandchildren, Callie Palka, Jailyn Clouse, Ty Clouse, Landon Clouse, Corrie Oberdier, Caitlin Oberdier, Jacob Barrett, Aiyana Barrett, Laveah Oberdier, and great granddaughter, Aaleah McCloud.

Though Thomas is no longer with us in body, but his memory will live on, remembered by all who were privileged to share in his journey. Our hearts are heavy, but it comforts us to know that he is now at rest. May Thomas James Palka rest in peace.

Visitation will be at Newcomer Funeral Home 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (Southwest Chapel) Toledo, Ohio 43614 on Thursday February 8th, 2024 from 3pm to 7pm with a short service to follow.
