Thomas P. Larkin, age 77, of Toledo passed away suddenly at home on Monday, August 6, 2012. He was born on June 29, 1935 to Stephen and Grace (Grefe) Larkin in Chicago. Tom proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the VFW. Tom worked for Ford Motor Company for 42 years, retiring as a superintendent. He was a devoted Detroit Lion's fan and enjoyed watching any sporting event on television that he could. He also was an avid card player. Most precious to him were his grandchildren and he especially enjoyed teasing them. His family will always remember him for his quick-dry wit and the practical jokes that he played on them.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Luann L. "Louie" Larkin; children, Thomas P. (Carrie) Larkin, Jr., Joseph A. Larkin and Betty Baker, Lisa A. Cutlip and Amy M. (Scott) Grant; first wife, Martha Larkin; grandchildren, Bryan Cooper, Luke Cutlip, Benjamin and Jillian Grant and Jesse Larkin; sister, Lily (David) Mohan, brothers, Harry (JoAnn), Robert (Marlene), William (Cathy), Stephen (Josephine), Terry (Frieda) and Mike Larkin; many nieces and nephews and a host of very special friends from over the years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Doug Stroosnyder.
The family will receive guests on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
