Thomas J. Mcnett, Sr.
November 8, 1922 — February 3, 2013
Thomas J. McNett, Sr., 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 3, 2013. He was born on November 8, 1922 to the late Phoebe and Edward McNett in Toledo, Ohio.
Tom was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres during WWII. He was a member of VFW Post 2898 and the AmVets Post 54. Tom retired from Doehler Jarvis after 37 years of service as a welder. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon; brothers, John, Eugene and Edward Robert and granddaughter, Lisa. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Thomas (Barb), Patricia (Mike) Ross, Ed (Jeanne); 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Road, Toledo (419-473-0300). VFW Honors will be held at 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Burial at Toledo Memorial Park.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Odyssey Hospice or VFW Post 2898.
