Thomas E. Groat

Thomas E. Groat age 44 of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 9, 2024. He was Born Feb 7, 1980, at Tripler Army Medical center in Honolulu, HI to Paul and Venessa (Weaver) Groat.

Tom Graduated from Rogers High School in 1998 and continued his education at Ohio University in Athens Ohio where he was in the band and was proud to march in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. He was employed at FedEx for many years.

Tom loved Music, guitar, piano, saxophone, tambourine and enjoyed Karaoke with his friends. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions, Redwings, Tigers and the Toledo Mud hens.

Surviving are his parents, Paul and Venessa (Weaver) Groat; siblings Matthew and Tanya Groat. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a ton of awesome friends that he loved. Tom was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cloyce and Marie Weaver and Edith and Royce Groat; and uncles, Richard L. Weaver and James H. Groat.

Family and friends will be received at the Newcomer Funeral Home (Southwest Chapel), 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 1:00-3:00 PM. A service celebrating Tom’s life will immediately follow at 3 PM.
