Thomas F. Frome, age 93, of Toledo, Ohio passed away into the arms of the Lord, Jesus Christ on Monday, November 1, 2021, at Tim and Lori Layne's home in Sand Lake, Michigan from natural causes.
He was born to the late Alice Elizabeth Frome in Toledo, Ohio on July 1, 1928, as Thomas Francis Wirick and was adopted at age one by the late Jacob P. Frome. Thomas was an only child.
His life highlights include service in WWII and the Korean War as a proud U.S. Marine from 1946 - 1952 obtaining the rank of Staff Sargant and awarded many medals and honors. Thomas retired from two lifetime careers; a full career at the Dana Corp as a computer supervisor and a full career at Whiteford Valley Golf Club as a green's keeper. He retired at age 85. Thomas accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior before his death.
His passions included golf and bowling. He even bowled a perfect 300 game. Thomas was recently widowed, preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Frome.
Thomas is survived by his four children, Mike Frome of Whitehall, TX, Sue (Dan) Textor of North Port, FL, Diane (Tom McKernan) Loeb of Waco, TX, and Lori (Timothy) Layne of Sand Lake, MI. He also leaves behind a legacy of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, December 4, 2021 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Conn-Weissenberger American Legion Post 587, 2020 W. Alexis Rd., Toledo, OH 43613, with a luncheon to follow.
Donations can be made to Pilots for Christ Michigan, 7746 W 60th St. Fremont, MI 49412, as they assisted in the move by ground and air.
