Thomas C. "Tom" Fox, age 84, of Sylvania, passed away peacefully Friday, December 3, 2021 at Flower Hospital after a short illness surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 19, 1937 to Richard and Helen (McClure) Fox in Ashland, Ohio. Tom was a 1955 graduate of DeVilbiss High School. He attended the University of Toledo, then became active in the Ohio National Guard. He spoke fondly of his summers growing up, spending time with his grandparents and helping them work the farm.
Tom worked for almost 50 years in the concrete business, retiring from the Kuhlman Corporation. Tom was a car enthusiast, especially sports cars, enjoying rides in his two seater convertible aka "Fox's Toy". Tom loved vacationing to the islands and Mexico with "his Julie". He enjoyed playing euchre, working in his yard, grilling out, and having a good margarita! Most important to Tom was his family and he looked forward to time spent with them, especially his grandchildren. Tom's sense of humor, smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 37 years, Julie Fox; children, Nicole (Timothy) Wright, Timothy D. Fox, and Jennifer A. Fox; step-son, Chad Fielding; grandchildren, Kyle (Alexis), Andrew, Carson, and Cash; sister, Karen (Gary) Morehouse; many other family members and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd., Toledo, OH (419-392-9500). Funeral Services will begin Friday, December 10, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
