Thomas F. "Tom" Bair, age 70, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Heartland of Waterville, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 9, 1941 to George and Betty (Putt) Bair in Lambertville, Michigan. Tom was employed with Doehler-Jarvis for 25 years before retiring. He then went to work for ABC Auto Auction for 6 years. Tom was a longtime friend of Bill W., just celebrating 29 years of sobriety on June 10, 2011. He loved racing and traveling. Tom will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Connie Tyson and brothers, Charles, Raymond and Dan Bair. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 24 ½ years, Shirley (Wilson) Bair; son, Mike (Kelly) Bair; daughters, Hope (Mike) Spears and Joyce (Fred) Hall; step-children, Donald Johnson, Linda (Brian) Hufford and Judy (Marco) Grados; grandchildren, Michael Spears, III, Autumn, Andrew and Amber Hall; step-grandchildren, Eric and Steven Hufford and Marco Jr. and Ana Grados; sister, Kay Upton; sister-in-law, Marge Bair; and many nieces, nephews and special friends.
The family will receive guests on Saturday from 2 – 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Minister Steve Mueller.
