Mr. Thomas E. Armstrong was born September 28, 1951, in Toledo, Ohio; he transitioned to his heavenly home on Monday, June 26, 2023, after a lengthy illness with his wife Susan at his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie C. Armstrong and Rosie Mae Armstrong; his son, Jason Armstrong; his brothers, Willie D. Armstrong, James E. Armstrong, Donald Armstrong, and Jackie Marshall.
As affectionally called by his family and friends, Tom attended Jesup W. Scott High School. When he was not working, Tom would attend Cornerstone Church for worship. He was an avid tennis player and enjoyed playing at various courts, but you could often catch him at Ottawa Park tennis courts. Tom enjoyed sports and often outcoached the NBA or NFL coaches from his living room. In addition to sports, he was a car lover who enjoyed driving his vehicles. Tom had a work ethic like no other. He retired from Chrysler Jeep after almost 30 years in March 2006 and was a proud member of the UAW. While retired, he kept himself busy working for Safeguard at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Toledo Art Museum, Toledo Hospital, and Hollywood Casino Toledo. His most recent fulfilling employment was with Midwest Recovery Center. Tom was always cool, calm, and collected. He would greet you with his winning smile and contagious laugh. Tom will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.
