Theresa B. Gonzales

Theresa B. Gonzales, age 63, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord, on February 6, 2023, at Ebeid Hospice. Theresa was born to Antonia (Roldan) and Jesse Gonzales.

Theresa spent ten years as an operator at AT&T until it closed in 1994. She graduated Lourdes College with a teaching degree. Ultimately, her true calling was teaching. She taught in preschool, migrant camps, grade schools and special education. She made it her mission to look out for the less fortunate and forgotten. Theresa may not have had children of her own, but treated every child as if they were hers. She became the matriarch of our family at the early age of 19. She was a beloved aunt to all ten of her nieces and nephews. Theresa was a devout Christian; she lived her faith out loud. She was a loyal friend and caretaker. Theresa offered unwavering support, love, and acceptance to her family, friends, and every student that entered her classroom.

Theresa will be greatly missed by those she has left behind, but welcomed with open arms by loved ones that have passed before her.

The family would like to thank the countless caregivers that helped Theresa on her journey: University of Michigan, University of Toledo Medical Center, and Ebeid Hospice.

Be free now, sissy. The burden of cancer is no more.

Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving sisters, Angela (Devin) Deiter and Katherine Gonzales; brother, Michael (Candi) Gonzales; nephews, Alexander Gonzales, Antonio (Amy) Gonzales, Dylan (Carmen) Deiter, and Brendan Deiter; great nieces and nephews, Brenden Rood, Bela, Alec, Xavier, Scarlett and Arriana Gonzales, and Malia Deiter.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, February 10, 2023, at 11:00 am, at Stone Gate Villas at Bennett Ranch, 9901 Bennett Ranch Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551.
