Theone Ryan

Theone "Toni" Ryan, beloved matriarch, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, in Toledo, Ohio. Born on October 1, 1929, in Toledo, Toni spent her life embodying strength, joy, and unwavering love for her family.

Toni was known for her vibrant personality, often described as a "spitfire." She had a knack for humor and a talent for making those around her laugh, creating countless memories during family get-togethers and lively cookouts. Her enthusiasm for life shone through her love of various interests, from being an avid reader to enjoying spirited games of BINGO. An ardent sports fan, she was particularly fond of the Detroit Tigers and the University of Michigan Football team, loyally cheering for her favorites.

As a mother, Toni is survived by her loving children: Joseph Ryan Jr., Toni Ryan, Mark Ryan and his wife Connie, Terry Ryan and his wife Tina, Kim Charles and her husband Jose, and Judy Noonan and her husband Pat. Her nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren as well, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of family with sixteen grandchildren, forty-eight great-grandchildren, and thirty-six great-great-grandchildren, with four more on the way. This expansive family circle is a testament to the unforgettable bonds she built throughout her life.

Toni's partnership with her late husband, Joseph Ryan Sr., was one characterized by deep love and companionship. They shared sixty wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2010. Toni also grieved the loss of her daughter, Cindy Speelman, whose memory remains forever cherished.

Toni's life will be celebrated in a series of services held on February 26, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home in Northwest Toledo. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. The day will conclude with her burial at Highland Memory Gardens in Waterville.

Toni's remarkable life and the joy she brought to her family and friends will always be remembered. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will undoubtedly continue to inspire everyone who knew her.
