Theodore "Teddy" H. Long. December 1961 - November 1981. Ted was born in Dayton, Ohio to Theron H. Long and Patricia A. (Krebs) Long. He attended Robert S. Rogers Senior High School from 1976-1978. Ted is remembered as a sweet, inquisitive young man with a charming smile and a sharp, sometimes slightly twisted wit, who excelled at sketch drawing. He possessed a laid back outlook on life which complimented his love of music and partying.
In the fall of 1981, Ted left Toledo for Columbus to retrieve belongings and never returned. He was slain and due to the perpetrator's intention, he remained unidentified until an advance in his location was researched. It is with immeasurable gratitude to all involved including; Detective Sgt. David Sweeney, Chief Deputy David "Andy" Bevins and Ohio Attorney General Bureau of Criminal Investigation for reuniting Ted with his family. Left to hold dear Ted's memory were his parents, sisters, Robin and Sharon. Ted is survived by his sister, Sharon (Jesus), niece, Patricia, and nephew, Samuel.
A Memorial Homecoming will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Chapel at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, OH 43614.
