Thelma Huntley was born November 19, 1920 in Dyersburg, Tn. She passed away peacefully in her sleep October 28, 2018 at the age of 97. She came to Toledo in the 50's during the time she found her love and best friend Charles "Chuck" Huntley.
Thelma and her husband opened her arms to many families around the Hamilton Street/South Side of Toledo. Regardless of Race, color, hardship, she never turned her back on you. She had numerous jobs but the love of children made her become a daycare provider inside her Hamilton Street home. You could catch her near the water catching fish, sitting on her porch gossiping with neighbors and watching the kids play outside. She was stern, didn't take any one side but had a heart of gold. She loved getting family together for Christmas Parties each year playing The Temptation Night Before Christmas soundtrack.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles Huntley; Siblings, Nieces, and Nephews. She is survived by her Sons, Danny Huntley, Keith Douglas (Tamora, Keith, and Kevin Douglas); Loving Nieces Thelma (Omaha Nebraska), Joyce Ann (Dyersburg, TN); Grandchildren; Great-Grandchildren; Great Nieces and Nephews. Special thanks to her caretaker, Niece, Takiyah Simmons, Dorian Powell, and Nicole Packman. She will be truly missed here on earth but was time to be reunited again with her husband, parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews. We Cherish her, Loved her, and Grateful for all the love she has shared with us all.
Special Thanks to all that played a part in Thelma's life if it was through conversation, smiling, walking side by side with her or her tiny little voice she said Thank You!
