Thelma B. Kosik, age 82, of Toledo, was called home Friday January 4, 2013 at Flower Hospital. She was born on July 2, 1930 to Frank and Cornelius Finger in Youngstown, Ohio. She married Joseph A. Kosik on November 25, 1948. Thelma was employed with Harmon Sign Co., then Casey Sign Co. and then went on to retire from Eve's Auto Tops in 2006. She enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching, reading and baking, especially during the holidays. Thelma never met a stranger and had an infectious smile. She learned to live freely and enjoy the little things in life. Thelma loved nothing more than the time spent with her family; this was evident as she resided with her daughter Kathy for years. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; sons, Allan and Mike; granddaughter, LeeAnn; and brother, Bill Finger. Thelma is survived by her son, Steve (Donna) Kosik; daughters, Kathy Kosik and Tina (Gerry) Afonica; daughters-in-law, Margie and Sharon; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Loretta Macala; her miniature schnauzer, Brutus; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Thursday from 2 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make monetary donations are asked to consider the family.
