Terry L. Shirey

Terry L. Shirey, age 64, of Toledo, passed away Friday, September 19, 2008 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. He was born March 20, 1944 to Harry and Florence (Laufketter) Shirey in Toledo. Terry was employed with Bostwick Braun for 38 years, retiring in 2006. He was a sports car enthusiast, and owned and enjoyed driving his Cobra for several years. Terry also enjoyed watching movies and would visit the local theaters to watch both old and new movies. He was a true outdoorsman and spent a lot of time in his garden and working around the yard and house. Most importantly, Terry was a proud and devoted husband, father and grandfather, cherishing the time spent with his family.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Mary J. (Wheat) Shirey, with whom he would have celebrated 42 years of marriage on September 24th, 2008; daughters, Julie (Tom) Felt; Jenny Pietrowski and Jeanne Shirey; grandchldren, April Thayer; David Pintor; Ryan Pietrowski; Sydney Felt and Aaliyah Pope. Terry will also be remembered by many dear friends.

The family will receive guests Monday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419) 473-0300. Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Mike DeLong. Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
