Terry L. Gomez

Terry Gomez, age 64, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022 at home. He was born on June 2, 1958 to Joseph and Rosemary Gomez in Toledo. Terry graduated from Whitmer High School and attended the University of Toledo. He was employed and co-owner with his family's business, St. James Fitness and Swim for many years before retiring. Terry was an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins, The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Detroit Red Wings and going to their games. He had a passion for music and concerts, especially loving the Beatles, ZZ Top, Tom Petty and Moody Blues to name a few. Terry loved the outdoors, camping, taking trips to Hocking Hills and any chance he could looking at the stars. He enjoyed fishing, boating and had a love of flying even obtaining his pilot's license. Terry loved animals of all kinds; owning them, feeding them, caring for them, whatever it may be, especially his cat, Shane. His smile, quick wit, dry sense of humor and caring nature will truly be missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael Gomez and Rick Gomez. Left to cherish his memory are his loving significant other of 16 years, Mary Gercak; nephew, Brian (Karen) Gomez; great-nieces, Hannah and Hailey; great-nephew, Joseph; sister-in-law, Bonnie Gomez; and many dear friends.

There will be no visitation or services at this time per Terry's wishes. Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, Toledo (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
