Tara Joi Smith, age 50, a lifelong resident of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at The Toledo Hospital. She was born November 16, 1970 in Toledo to Fred and Susan (Chase) Smith. Tara graduated from Jefferson Center High School. She met and married her husband Gerald in 1989 and together they raised their 4 children.
Tara Joi Smith reunited with God, her father and grandparents. With a sorrowful heart she left behind her loving husband, sweet mother and her dear children; Gerald Myers, Susan Smith, Gerald (Diana) Myers Jr., Anthony (Lindsay) Myers, Amber Harrigan and Cody Myers. Also her grandchildren Laila Myers, Dominic Myers, Izzy Shearer, Katherine Harrigan, Hunter Harrigan. And her brother Troy Smith, niece Justine Smith, and their growing family.
Tara had the most giving heart. She made many the sacrifice to ensure she had the means to care for others, to donate to every and any charity that asked, to strangers and the homeless, and to provide her family with their every need. It is impossible to tell you of her deep love for her family. Tara entered the Myers family like a bolt of lightning. And made it such a better family from day one. She took in children that she did not give birth to as her own. She was the great nurturing person to all she knew. Her children and grandchildren were her whole life. There was nothing she would not do for them.
One could go on forever letting the world know the loving person and caring soul she was. She will live for all time as the most loving devoted mother, wife, and friend to have blessed the world.
The Myers Family will be celebrating Tara's life at a Private Gathering. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time.
