Tanya M. King

Tanya M. King, age 49, of Pflugerville, TX, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 24, 2024 while in a car accident alongside her loving daughter. She was born on October 23, 1974 to Larry and Rosario (Simon) Gendron in the Philippines. Tanya graduated in 1993 from Springfield High School where she played volleyball. After school she continued to play any chance she could. Tanya received her degree in nursing from Owens Community College. She most recently worked as a charge nurse at St. David’s Hospital in Texas for 15 years. Tanya liked knitting, crocheting, sewing and making everything from scratch. She was an excellent cook, loved interior design and loved animals of all kinds, especially her dogs. Tanya was a fashionista and dressed to the nines!

Like her daughter, she loved nothing more than providing and spending time with her family; most importantly her children and grandchildren. Tanya took the most pride in being “Grammie” and would do anything for her grandbabies. She was a die-hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed attending games. Tanya liked dancing, going camping and going to Mexico with her husband and family. Her smile, huge heart and caring nature will truly be missed by all. Tanya would want you to remember her with a smile!

Her daughter, Tiana Moore passed away alongside her, and she was also preceded in death by her uncles, Kenneth “Bo” and Randy Gendron; and aunt, Linda Gendron.

Left to cherish Tanya’s memory are her loving husband of 19 years, Matthew King; children, Jesse King, Tayler (Austin) Cairl, Isaiah Jacobs, and Antonio King; grandchildren, Ainsley, Dallas, Averie, and Zyleik; parents, Larry (Lily) Gendron and Rose Krieger; in-laws, Ron and Lily King; siblings, Rhoderick (Sarah) Gendron, and Ryan (Christine) Krieger; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

The family will receive guests for both Tanya and Tiana on Monday, June 3, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd., Toledo, OH 43617 (419-392-9500). Funeral Services will begin on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
