Sylvia Mae Blair, age 86, resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Kingston Care Center in Sylvania, Ohio. She was born on July 17, 1934, in Milburn, Kentucky, to the late Vernon F. and Martha J. (Cissell) Bugg.
Sylvia is a 1954 graduate of DeVilbiss/Whitmer High School. She continued her education at Stautzenberger College, where she received her Bachelor's Degree. A woman of faith, she was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for over 50 years; she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. When she wasn't being a mom, she had worked at a few places over the years: Washington Local Schools as a secretary, Toledo Memorial Park, and Emmanuel Baptist Church in the office. Sylvia loved secretarial work and being in the office. She loved greeting new faces and assisting with the public. She was known in her community for being cheerful and friendly to all, especially newcomers. Sylvia was well known at the Humane Ohio, where she made blankets for kittens that came in. Sylvia also knitted dozens of socks and mittens and donated them to Cherry Street Mission.
Those left to forever cherish her memory are her two children, Scott Blair and Linda Blair; a grandson, Aaron Blair; and numerous other loved ones.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death and greeted in Heaven by her husband, Howard "Gus" Blair, whom passed in 2017.
