Silbestre "Sylvester" Villarreal, age 79, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2006 in the Lutheran Home of Toledo. He was born May 12, 1927 to Jose and Maria (Maldonado) Villarreal in Robstown, Texas. Sylvester was employed with Conrail railroad for 32 years retiring in January of 1982. He was also an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves. Sylvester was a proud husband, father and grandfather and he enjoyed the time he spent with his family.
In addition to his parents, Sylvester was preceded in death by his brothers, Jessie "Jesus" and Eliseo Villarreal. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Josie E. (Wycoff) Villarreal; children, Sylvester (Toni) Villarreal, Jr; Pamela Jo (Tom) French; Robert Lee Villarreal; Christina Maria (Rick) Thompson and Cecil Antonio Villarreal; brother, Erineo Villarreal and 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
The family will receive guests Tuesday from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Re. Marek Ciesla. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Toledo.
