Susan L. Winne

Susan Lynne (Zimmerman) Marks-Winne passed away peacefully on January 23, 2021 after a long battle with early onset Alzheimer's. Born on March 27, 1954 in Toledo, Ohio to James and Marie Zimmerman-Meade, Sue was 66 years old. She grew up in the Reynolds Corner area with her younger siblings, Bob and Cheryl, where they all enjoyed being just minutes away from extended family. Fun times were spent together with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
After graduating from Roger's High School, Sue married her sweetheart Roger Marks and together they raised a beautiful family of five kids. She was a great mother, dedicated to supporting her kids through all the crazy, wonderful, and challenging times in their lives. It is often said that her dog Taylor was likely her favorite "child!"
Sue had a special connection with her grandmother, Laura Zimmerman-Rice. She often spent time after school with "Mame" on her breezeway relaxing, or learning how to crochet, sew, and bake. This creative spirit followed Sue into adulthood. Her many hobbies included sewing, scrapbooking, basket weaving, and knitting. Sue had many beautiful friendships throughout her lifetime. She loved them dearly, and enjoyed catching up over the phone. Sue cherished spending time with her own grandchildren, no matter how far she had to travel.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sue served in many capacities over the years. She spent a lifetime teaching her children how to love others through her kind acts of service. Sue volunteered at her children's schools and loved her time spent serving families through Hospice.
Sue found love in this life a second time, and on May 26, 2012 she married Bruce Winne. Their time together was not long enough, but Bruce could always bring a smile to her face and make her laugh. Bruce lovingly cared for Sue and made her final years the best they could possibly be. She loved him dearly.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents and sister Cheryl Jaworski. She is survived by her husband Bruce Winne; brother Bob (Susie) Zimmerman; children Andrea (Jason) Palmer, Eric (Renae) Marks, Liz (Tim) Argyle, David (Leah) Marks, Chris (Courtney) Marks; and her 12 amazing grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Sue's name. We appreciate the care given to her at Story Point in Waterville and want to especially thank the nurses and caregivers in the memory care unit.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a service will be held for immediate family only on Friday, January 29 at 10:00 AM. It will be live streamed
