Susan M. Zaenger, age 74, of Toledo, passed away May 7, 2016, at Heartland of Waterville after a long battle with cancer. She was born August 13, 1941 to Irving and Lillian (Resnikoff) Horowitz in Brooklyn, New York. Susan loved helping people and devoted her life to caring
for others. As a Certified Nurse Assistant she was able to be a part of helping people heal. Susan
spoke often about the many people she meet during her years in the health care industry, both co-workers and patients. She said she inherited her compassion from her mother who used to tell her stories as she was growing up about the patients and families she had befriended during her years in the same field. Susan was also known for her love of animals and Harley Davidsons. She was a member of the Cancer Support Group of Toledo and The Victory Center.
Susan leaves behind in-laws and good friends, Marlene and Ralph Zaenger, dear friend and caregiver, Amanda (Ted) Hazard and many friends who enjoyed her sense of humor and her talent of Storytelling.
Guests are invited to visit Friday from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900), where Funeral Services will begin at noon. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Toledo, Ohio.
