Sue Jewell, age 62, of Toledo, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014 surrounded by her loving family at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. She was born on April 23, 1952 to James and Virginia Ballmer in Toledo. Sue was a graduate of Start High School (1970) and a graduate of Bowling Green State University (1974). Also in 1974, she married Derek "Rick" Jewell in Toledo. Sue previously worked at Toledo and Riverside Hospitals as an R.D. and most recently Sodexho as a food service manager. Most important to her was caring for her family and raising "two strong, independent women of the 21st Century." She was a wonderful wife, mother and beloved Nana to Noel and Harley. Sue enjoyed the "beach life" and listening to Jimmy Buffett music. Many memories were made on family trips and vacations.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 40 years, Rick Jewell; daughters, Amanda Jewell and Sarah (Aaron) Bishop; precious granddaughters, Noel and Harley; siblings, Ray (Marcie) Ballmer, Joyce (Daniel) Bomia, Joseph Ballmer and John Ballmer; sister in law, Carol Jewell; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, James and Phil Ballmer.
The family will receive guests on Friday, June 27, 2014 from 1- 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
