Susan J. Heabler, 69, passed away peacefully at her home on February 27, 2014. She was born on June 5, 1944 to the late Betty and Charles Smith in Chardon, Ohio.
Suzy worked as a Medical Technologist at Parkview Hospital for many years and at Path Labs until retirement. She enjoyed traveling with her family, loved the mountains, and was able to see Egypt and Hawaii. Suzy was passionate about wildlife preservation and loved animals of all kinds. She also loved gardening, sewing, woodworking, and furniture restoration. Suzy dedicated her life to her family and pets.
In addition to her parents, Suzy was preceded in death by her brother, Steve. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 42 years, Mike; daughters, Laurie McColl, Carrie (fiancé Mark) Heabler and Michelle Heabler and her beloved cats and granddogs.
The Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
To honor Suzy's love for animals, the family requests memorial donations in her name to: Cutie's Fund at Lucas County Canine Care and Control, 410 S. Erie, Toledo, OH 43604 or Toledo Area Humane Society, 1920 Indian Wood Circle, Maumee, OH 43537.
