Susan Diana Schenck

Susan Diana "Susie" (McAvoy) Schenck, age 60, of Temperance, crossed over to the other side to be with her father, mother and infant sister Penelope, after an epic battle that any Irish Warrior would be proud of, on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 with her loving husband and best friend, Penny by her side. She was born on November 24, 1954 to Dr. Harry D. and Virginia P. (Craig) McAvoy in Toledo. Susan was an avid reader, loved boating, traveling with her soulmate Larry to anywhere near water or a beach. She loved volunteering at St. Anne's Hospital, in the cancer center. Susan enjoyed her time spent at the Victory Center, where she made fast friends. She never met a stranger and will be truly missed.

Susan is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Larry Schenck; brothers, Richard (Tess), of Middleburg, VA and James (Barbara) McAvoy,of Hilton Head Island, SC; sisters, Patricia McAvoy, of Delta and Lara (Dennis Maney) McAvoy, of Milwaukee, WI; second mom, Susanne Koder; 16 loving nieces and nephews; 21 great nieces and nephews; and not to forget her feline companion, Mr. Bentley.

The family will receive guests on Sunday from 1 – 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Memorial Services beginning at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
