Sulema Burdo

Sulema Burdo, age 77, resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on April 5, 1944, in Carrizo Springs, Texas, to the late Juan and Erlinda (Sanchez) Rios.

Sulema graduated from Perrysburg High School and had worked at E+L Mercado. She was an active member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church. She enjoyed dancing, shopping, BBQs, and collecting jewelry. Most of all, Sulema loved and cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Those left to forever cherish her memory are her three children, Melinda (Richard) Lynch, Laura Burdo, Tony (Michele) Burdo; seven grandchildren, Korrine (Tim), Sierra (Matt), Joshua (Kelsey), Nicolas, Adam, Reid, and Sam; six great grandchildren, Preston, Jack, Penelope, Grant, Palmer, and Fletcher; six siblings, Robert, Hilda, Rick (Angie), Lydia, Janie (Joe), and Rosie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sulema was preceded in death by her brother, Rueben Rios.

Family and friends may gather at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623, on Monday, April 26, 2021, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, where her funeral service will take place at 12:00 pm With Father John Miller officiating.
