Sue (Kolenda) Mcdonald

Sue (Kolenda) McDonald, 77, of Bradenton, FL, left this life on December 30, 2014. She was born on October 16, 1937 in Rockford, IL. She raised a family of 5 children while working full time at Illinois Bell in the business office. Sue was a wonderful mother and was loved deeply.
She married John W. McDonald, of Toledo, OH on June 24, 1982 and they were inseparable up until her passing. Sue was a gracious and loving wife. They enjoyed years of traveling the U.S. and Europe and visiting family.
Sue enjoyed travel, photography, gardens and music. A favorite pastime was walking with friends and family, sharing stories. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Sue is survived by her loving husband, John, who adored her; her 5 children, Ginger Kolenda Glicken, Katie (Dan) Hemlock, Marylou (Rick) Wright, Jeff Kolenda and her youngest, Joe Kolenda; grandchildren, Courtney, Eryn and Sean Glicken and Jeff, Alex and Ryan Kolenda; cousins, Deborah Welsby and Pamela Welsby Goldblatt; step-children, Jennifer Steves, Jeff McDonald and Jacquie Harland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melville and Pauline Bradsteen; aunt, Geneva Hotelling; sister, Eileen Welsby Goldsmith; grandson, Tyler Glicken; and step-son, John McDonald, Jr.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, January 7, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider a charity of the donor's choice.
