Steven R. Szymczak

Steven R. "Steve" Szymczak, age 61, of Toledo, passed away Friday, April 7, 2023. He was born on November 28, 1961 to Richard and Pauline Szymczak in Toledo. Steve graduated in 1980 from Whitmer High School. He worked at Chrysler/Jeep for over 30 years until retiring. After retirement he worked at Bedford Hills Golf Course where he made many friends. Steve was an avid golfer, bowler and loved fishing. He played in a softball league for many years where his nickname was "Silver Bullet". Steve was a jack of all trades, an excellent painter and woodworker. He was a dedicated fan of the Toledo Walleye and Detroit Red Wings. Steve had a heart of gold, was very generous and giving. His sense of humor will be missed by all. Steve's smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he will be joined in death by his faithful canine companion Bella, his baby girl. Left to cherish Steve's memory are his loving children, Kimi Szymczak, Kevin (Lindsay) Szymczak and Hailey Szymczak; siblings, Rick (Karen) Szymczak and Jan (Mike) Barchick; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Memorial Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
