Steven Price

Steven C. Price, 52 of Toledo, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Toledo Hospital due to injuries sustained in a traffic accident. Steve was born January 7, 1960 to Richard and Peggy Price. He lived his entire life in the Holland and Toledo area. After graduating from Springfield High School in 1977, he was a volunteer firefighter for the Holland Fire Department and a Deputy with the Lucas County Sheriff Department. His current position was as a conductor for the Norfolk Southern Railroad.

Steve loved his job, and when he was not working, he enjoyed working on cars and computers. He was a family- oriented man who enjoyed Chinese food and watching movies with his family. Always a caring and giving person, Steve spent time volunteering as a Boy Scout leader and a softball coach. One of Steve's favorite pastimes was playing the drums. His love of percussion will carry on since both of his children are also percussionists. His wife, children and family were the most important and cherished aspect of his life.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife Diane, son Garrett, daughter Brittani, endearing mother Peggy and sister Lori (Jim) Young, brothers-in-law Dan Sohnly and Don (Cathi) Sohnly as well as several nieces and nephews. He will also be greatly missed by special friends Liz and Mark Villarreal, Blythe Worstell, and best friend Steve Bricker. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Richard Price.

Friends may pay tribute to Steve along with his family on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at the Newcomer Funeral Home located at 4752 Heatherdowns Boulevard from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Holland Free Methodist Church on Angola Road beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 2012. Burial will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
