Steven Lee Ingalsbe, age 73, a longtime resident of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, February 5th, 2025 surrounded by his loving family at Flower Hospital. He was born October 27th, 1951 to Richard D. and Marilyn L. (Liggett) Ingalsbe in Toledo. Steve graduated from Whitmer High School, Class of 1969. He continued his education attending Stautzenberger College graduating in 1972.
After college, Steve began his career with Dana Corporation. After 33 successful years with Dana, Steve retired in 2006 as a Senior Designer, involved with developing several patents for the company during his time there. Steve wasn't one to be idle, so not long after his retirement he began to work part-time positions at the Heatherdowns Country Club and Washington Local Schools where he could enjoy the great outdoors that he loved so much.
Steve married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Patricia L. Graham on March 10th, 1973. They honeymooned in Miami, Florida. It was then their love of warm weather and beautiful beaches became amazing future vacations allowing them to travel on many wonderful cruises over the years. Shortly after their honeymoon and return to Toledo Steve and Pat started their family, welcoming their daughters, Tracy and Kristi. As the girls grew up, the family continued to blossom with grandchildren and one great grandson. Steve felt blessed to see his family grow and he treasured every minute of the times they spent together.
Steve was known for the love he had for his family. He was a devoted son, husband, dad, papa and friend to all the special people in his life. In 2016, Steve was diagnosed with leukemia that transformed to lymphoma. He went on to do everything he could to beat his illness, including being a part of 3 clinical trial programs at the Cleveland Clinic.
Throughout his life Steve was known for his constant activity enjoying many different sports and hobbies. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye football fan, golfer, runner, tennis player and lifelong physical fitness enthusiast through his exercise and nutritional habits. One of his most treasured activities was sailing. Steve and his wife Pat loved to sail on Marble Lake in Quincy, Michigan. During his working years Steve and Pat moved to South Carolina for a short time where they joined a Sailing Club and sailed on Lake Murray. Steve and Pat just enjoyed the beautiful sights and freedom of being on the water. They considered themselves warm weather travelers and created many beautiful memories together.
Steve saw the good in everything and everyone around him, as he put others’ needs before his own. His kindness and generous spirit made others feel loved and appreciated. Steve also had a love of movies, building a very impressive DVD collection of 100's of titles. He really enjoyed sharing the old classics as well as some of the newer ones with family and friends.
