Steven C. Kowalski

Steven C. "Steve" Kowalski, 54, of Toledo, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 after a brief illness. He was born on September 23, 1958 to Donald R. and Janet (Linthicum) Kowalski in Toledo. Steve proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of I.B.E.W. Local 8 for over 25 years as a journeyman electrician. When Steve wasn't working he enjoyed golfing, reading, fishing, cooking, baking and listening to as well as playing the blues. His pride and joy were his children; favorite past times included attending their school events, concerts and dining out with his children. One of Steve's aspirations was to see his children graduate college and excel. Steve was a kind hearted person, and a wonderful, loving father. Steve was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. His family will always remember him for his wonderful sense of humor, his wide ranging intellect and continued love of learning.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Roni, Josh, and Louie; father, Don; siblings, Patricia (David) DiPaolo and Dean (Tammy) Kowalski; children's mother, Lisa Kowalski; nieces and nephew, Kristen and Kali Kowalski, and Jennifer and Matthew Baginski. Preceding him in death was his mother, Janet.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
