Stephan M. Gabalac

Stephan passed away quietly in his sleep Saturday morning February 27, 2021 in Toledo, Ohio. He was a graduate of South High School (Akron), Oberlin College and the Ohio State University Law School. Stephan served his country in the United States Army. He also served his hometown of Akron as Assistant Law Director and the citizens of Summit County as Assistant Prosecuting Attorney and later duly elected Summit County Prosecutor. Stephan finished his professional career as a personal injury lawyer with Frank Cubbon & Assoc. in Toledo, Ohio.

During his life Stephan was an athlete, poet, scholar, an accomplished photographer, yachtsman, musician, amateur chef and avid gardener. Although he'll be greatly missed, we all have every confidence that his pursuit of excellence continues into the next life.

Stephan was a devoted husband to Nancy, his wife of 62 years; a loving father to his son, Marko (Elaine) and daughter, Shanno (Josh); a doting grandfather to, Sean and Gina; and an adventurous tour director for his younger sisters, Draeleen, Annie "Siama" and Mikki (Christopher). He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be no visitation or services for Stephan at this time. A Celebration of Life to honor Stephan will be held at a later date. Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, Toledo (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
