Stef Stahl, age 68, died on October 7, 2015. He was born on April 14, 1947 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to the late Steve J. Stoll and Thelma Gundy Stoll.

Stef earned his BA in 1973 from the University of Maryland, his MFA in 1975 from George Washington University, and his PhD in 1996 from New York University. Stef was Dalton Lecturer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art from 1975-1987. He lived in Sansepolcro, Tuscany, Italy, for 4 years. During that time, he established a Program in Art and Language for children, which he continued in Klagenfurt, Austria. Stef was best known for his role as Chairman of Museum Education at The Toledo Museum of Art from 1992-1998. This is where he met his beloved Marilyn. The two were married at Malibar Farm, Ohio, on May 22, 2004 and honeymooned in Paris. In 1998, he became the Artistic Director at the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio in Lancaster until 2001. Stef then worked as Adjunct Professor at the Department of Art Education and was head of school and teacher programs at The Wexner Center for the Arts at The Ohio State University from 2002-2006.

Preceded in death by his parents, he leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife Marilyn Mavis Stahl, aunt Anna Behofcist, uncles Anthony Stoll, Charles Gundy and Alben Gundy, cousins Carla Blazer and Paulette Pinko.

Friends and family may gather at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900) on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from Noon – 2:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
