Stanley "Mike" Wnorowski, Jr.
Stanley "Mike" Wnorowski, Jr., of Toledo passed away Sunday, February 2, 2003 in Heartland of Perrysburg. He was born November 16, 1922 to Stanley and Stephanie (Golinski) Wnorowski, Sr. in Toledo. Growing up in Toledo, Mike attended McKinley, Blessed Sacrament and Macomber. He was employed with Toledo Edison for 35 years, retiring in 1983. Mike was a charter member of Merickle-Farley Trout Club and IBEW. He was passionate about gun safety and taught Hunter Safety Classes through VFW's and several highschools for 5 years. Mike was also a former Sunday school teacher for 25 years at Detroit Ave. Wesleyan Church, where he was a longtime member. He served his country in the US Marine Corps. from 1943-46.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brothers; Lou, Edward and Harry Wnorowski. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years; Bonnie J. (Waller) Wnorowski, children; Claudia Botterweg of Phoenix, AZ., Ted Wnorowski of Bellevue, OH., and Jason Wnorowski of Toledo, 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, siblings; Joe Wnorowski of Cleveland, Chet Wnorowski and Marie Shearer both of Toledo.
The family will receive guests Thursday from 5-9:00 p.m. in Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Trinity Nazarene Church of the Nazarene, 4930 Flanders Rd at Laskey Rd. in Toledo. Officiating will be Pastor Rick Ketterman. Memorial Contributions may be made to Trinity Church of the Nazarene Building Fund, c/o of the church or to the charity of the Donor's Choice.
